Kennen wanted to be Link from the video game Zelda. I had lots of fun making the accessories, especially the paper mache shield.
After seeing "Barbie Fairytopia Live", the only thing Becky wanted to be was, of course, Elina from the show! I went through my stash and got out all the pink, fluffy, shiny stuff I could find, and went to town with it. While we were at the theater, we got to see one of the costumes close up on display in the lobby. I tried to base my costume on a combination of it and the costume in the dvd, and the doll outfit.
Ellie and David, big Tim Burton fans, decided to be Shock and Barrel from Nightmare Before Christmas. It was quite a challenge, to make costumes for human beings, and at the same time try to make them look like extreme stop-motion characters. Quite fun, though! The worst part was the makeup and having to put it on for a party and then a few days later, Halloween itself!
I was just going to wear last year's Requiem dress, but during the pre-Halloween shopping, I found this toatally cool witch's hat, and decided to make a wizarding robe and be Professor MacGonnegal.
Mandy chose Helena from a music video by My Chemical Romance. Basically, a tight-fitting prom-trye dress with lots of taffeta and tulle, and then of course, the wonderful makeup she did on herself.
Justen and Beth were Christina and the Phantom, from Phantom of the Opera. We got these snow pictures a few weeks after Halloween, when the weather cooperated up in the mountains. Justen made his mask using silicon and several molds.
